Quadrant EPP has expanded its
product line to include a range of Nyla-
tron 4. 6 rod and sheet sizes. This high-
temperature grade of nylon is based on Stanyl
4. 6 raw material produced by Netherlands-based
DSM Engineering Plastics.
Made available first in Europe, Nyaltron 4. 6 was created
to give OEM design engineers an option in Nylon (PA) that
wasn’t previously available. The product has a heat deflection temperature (ASTM D648) over 300° F (150° C), which
exceeds most PA-, POM- and PET-based materials. Nylatron
4. 6 retains its strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures but still offers the toughness and durability that make
nylon a sound design choice.
Nylatron 4. 6 has been used for wear-resistant parts in industrial process machinery and as valve components in chemical
processing applications. Its retention of physical properties at
higher temperatures has made it ideal for small series, machined
automotive and transportation components where under-hood
specifications require 300° F (150° C) capability.

Sierra Instruments introduces its
Smart-Trak 2, a significant re-design of
the flagship Series 100 Digital Mass
Flow Meters and Controllers. New features, which are the result of over five
years of user feedback, include more
control, independence and flexibility.
Sierra also introduced the Compod, an
add-on that expands networking, streamlines and simplifies
functionality and reduces costs.
Ideal for OEM, industry or research applications, the Smart
Trak 2 provides an advanced linear sensor, smoother valve performance, more robust electronics and more control over a wide
range of functions.
With its advanced capabilities, the Compod, coupled with
Sierra’s Smart-Trak Model 100 mass flow meters or controllers, simplifies basic flow control installations and permits networking of multiple instruments using open-source
MODBUS RTU protocol. By adding the Compod module to a
new or existing Smart-Trak, end users can take complete
control of gas mixing and blending, batch control, leak testing and process monitoring.
