ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS

Dresser Masoneilan helps customers meet strict environmental emissions standards with the Camflex II rotary globe valve. Featuring a specially-developed emissions free seal and many other innovative design characteristics, the Camflex II valve reduces equipment emissions that can occur at the valve shaft sealing or packing, particularly after long-term operation.

The seal, which is standard on most of the company’s rotary valves, including the Camflex II rotary globe valve, is efficiently engineered with few components for ideal functionality. It combines a double O-ring sealed packing follower with low-friction TFE-based packing materials for reliable, long-term service that complies with low-emissions standards.

Additionally, the small-range rotary motion of the valve shaft provides many benefits such as preventing contaminants from entering the packing system and causing damage.

Emerson Process Management announces a new FieldQ control module for use in conventionally wired applications. The new module significantly expands the application scope and scalability of the FieldQ range of fully integrated pneumatic actuators and controls for on/off and modulating control valves so that range now covers multiple applications—from simple switching to high-end busses with diagnostic capability.

The new module enables on/off control and provides the FieldQ benefits of a field-proven, rack-and-pinion pneumatic actuator with controls in a compact, reliable and robust, modular package. This integrated solution is suitable for both new and retrofit installations and the plug-and-play control modules provide an easy upgrade path to a Smart module, which features integrated local on/off controls and status/position LEDs or bus control, providing feedback and advanced diagnostics.

Flowserve Corporation introduces a breakthrough plug valve designed for high-pressure applications in the seawater reverse osmosis desalination industry. The cor-rosion-resistant Flowserve Durco PlugSeal allows quick and easy repair without requiring removal of the valve from the process line or special equipment and specially trained technicians.

The unique PFA-coated plug design, an industry first, eliminates the need for a sleeve, which is often difficult and expensive to remove or replace during repairs. The valve can be repaired quickly—without being cut from the process line. If the valve’s plug becomes worn, replacement is easy and inexpensive.

The Durco PlugSeal can be welded into the pipeline as a unit. However, if the customer is concerned about damage to interior parts during the welding process, all internal components of the plug valve can be removed easily.

ASCO introduces its 8262/8263 Series two-way direct-acting solenoid valves with increased AC and DC pressure ratings and real-time online configuration and ordering. The valves are ideal for applications in industrial and agricultural machinery, food products machinery, and medical and analytical instruments.

The valves come in normally-closed, brass and stainless-steel constructions. They can be used to control the flow of air, water and light oil and are available in 1/8-, 1/4- and 3/8-inch pipe sizes.

The online configuration tool allows customers to quickly build a valve to meet a set of specific requirements. It then displays the list price, availability, 3D CAD drawings and specifications for the configured product. The configurator generates an order code for the valve that permits an immediate online purchase. Most of the 8262/8263 Series valves are available through the ASCO Today same-day shipping program.
