ACTUATOR FEATURES INTEGRAL
PROCESS CONTROLLER

The new Rotork GPSA electric, explosion-proof, process control actuator offers high-precision performance, an advanced human-machine interface (HMI) and cost-saving capabilities.

It is available in linear and rotary actions and features an integral process controller, nonintrusive set-up and calibration, local controls, manual override, continuous modulation, diagnostics, programmable output characterization and input signal dampening.

Typically, process systems require additional control panels, cabling and extensive installation; however, the GPSA is provided in one integral package. A two-line, 16-character VFD display and nonintrusive rotary switches comprise the actuator’s HMI, providing user access for viewing and modifying parameters as well as data feedback. The GPSA actuator is mountable in any position and can operate on single-phase 120/240 voltage and 24 VDC.

RACK AND PINION ACTUATORS

The new Type 1032s from RSVP Actuators & Controls are computer designed to properly balance criteria and to provide alternatives that best fit clients’ needs. These actuators are manufactured for RSVP, using state-of-the-art machinery and quality assurance complying with ISO 9001 and PED 97/23/EC.

Two independent external travel stops permit easy and precise adjustment of plus-or-minus 5 degrees in both directions. Adjustment screws do not penetrate the pressurized body, which eliminates possible leakage. Modular pre-loaded spring cartridges provide for safe, efficient use of the actuator. A double-acting actuator can be converted to a spring return actuator by simply removing the end caps and adding 2-6 spring cartridges on each side to accomplish the desired torque.

The RSVP 1032 actuator is manufactured in full compliance with ISO 5211 and EN12116.

LARGE DIAMETER BUTTERFLY
VALVES

GF Piping Systems has introduced the new chemically resistant Type 567 and 568 butterfly valves in large diameter sizes up to 8 or 12 inches, depending on the model. The new valves feature a disc and liner made of

PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) and PTFE ( polytetra-fluorethylene) seals to provide greater chemical resistance and performance capabilities across a wide temperature range. Suitable applications include chemical processing, chlorine electrolysis, chemical production, and sanitization in markets such as food and beverage, pulp and paper, and steel production.

By combining the two high-performance plastics of PVDF and PTFE, the new valves provide reliability, low permeability and high chemical resistance for conveying extremely aggressive media. Specifically, three separate sealing elements are used: a PTFE profile seal in the seal passage, a double internal shaft seal on both sides of the shaft, and a special profile flange seal with broader contact face.
