ROTORK PURCHASES FLOW-QUIP CONTROLS
UK-based Rotork Plc acquired the business and assets of
Flow-Quip Controls Inc. for $8 million. Flow-Quip, based in
Tulsa, OK, will fit within the Rotork Fluid Systems Division.
The newly acquired company makes valves, actuators and
other parts, mainly for the oil and gas industry. Flow-Quip
has about $14 million in annual sales.
EMERSON ADDS TO ELECTRIC ACTUATOR
OFFERINGS WITH EIM CONTROLS
Emerson Process Management has acquired Missouri City,
TX-based EIM Controls Inc., which joins Emerson’s Valve
Automation Division. The acquisition expands Emerson’s
electric actuator portfolio while strengthening the company’s
applications for Foundation fieldbus and other major bus
protocols.
MIKRON VALVE & MANUFACTURER ACQUIRES
MILLER VALVE
Mikron Valve & Manufacturer, Inc. of Cranesville, PA, has
acquired Pittsburgh-based Miller Valve. Mikron, a new
member of the Valve Manufacturers Association, manufac-
tures custom high-performance, high-pressure ball valves.
Miller Valve produces ANSI flanged, globe-style, silent
stream flow check valves.
CONTINENTAL DISC AND GROTH EXPAND IN
THE NETHERLANDS
Continental Disc and Groth Corporations will begin to sup-
port all sales, customer service and logistics for the United
Kingdom and other European countries from their facilities
in Leiden, The Netherlands. Following a recruitment drive to
appoint several new people to their multilingual customer
service and sales teams, all the companies’ activities within
Europe and the Middle East began operating from the Lei-
den sales hub on Jan. 2, 2010.
DGI TO ACQUIRE MUELLER FLOW CONTROL
DIVISION OF MUELLER CANADA
Canadian-based Deschenes Group Inc. (DGI) has signed an
agreement to acquire the Mueller Flow Control (MFC) division of Mueller Canada Ltd. from Anvil International, L.P.
Anvil International is a subsidiary of VMA member Mueller
Water Products, Inc. The acquisition was expected to close
in early January 2010.
MFC is a wholesale distributor of pipes, valves and fittings, as well as waterworks, HVAC, fire protection and piping component products in Canada with 17 locations.

in federal stimulus funds to
build a 34-foot-tall, 11-
foot-wide, 52,000-pound
knife gate valve for a
Chicago storm and waste-water treatment plant.
Operations manager Robert
Nye says the valve was
built for a 96-inch diameter pipe. Made of carbon and stainless steel, the valve is the
third of its kind from Lined Valve.

CAMERON-DYNATORQUE… has appointed Colleen
VanderVelde to the position of plant manager at
Cameron’s Dyna Torque facility in Muskegon, MI. She
previously served as materials manager. VanderVelde
replaces Philip Vaughan, general manager, who retired
on Dec. 11, 2009. Vaughan is a past chairman of the
VMA board.
QTRCO... has appointed Gary Grauerholz as president;
he will be responsible for all non-nuclear activities.
Grauerholz has had operational, sales and senior
executive positions with Keystone, Groth and Curtiss-Wright. Shawn Hughes has been promoted to Chief
Operating Officer. He has been with QTRCO since its
inception and most recently has helped bring the
company into the nuclear market.
AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY, INC… has announced
that Randy Jackson is the new plant manager of the
company’s Houston facility. He had previously served as
ATI’s sales manager and earlier was at Bernard
Controls.
EMERSON PROCESS MANAGEMENT… announced
the appointment of Robert (Bob) T. Sharp as president,
Europe. Sharp will be based at Emerson’s European
head office in Baar, Switzerland. He previously served
as president of Emerson’s Rosemount Level & Marine
division.
