HIGH-PERFORMANCE BUTTERFLY VALVE S

Flowserve Corporation introduces the Valtek Valdisk high-cycle seat butterfly valve. The new seat design, made of UHMWPE material, offers an ANSI/FCI 7-0-2 class six shutoff rating after as many as 150,000 to 200,000 cycles. The unique patent-pending design of this high-cycle seat uses the pressure of fluid in the pipeline to compress and elongate an S-shaped soft seat, pressing it against the disk to maintain shutoff. As the seat undergoes normal wear, the fluid pressure compensates by pushing it further into the disk. Valtek high-performance butterfly valves are recognized for their ability to meet fugitive emission requirements and their long-lasting, tight shutoff. CIRCLE READER SERVICE #280

ELECTRIC CONTROL VALVE ACTUATORS New Rotork electric, non-intrusive CVA control valve actuators provide a major technological advance in precise operation, HMI capabilities and fail-to-position protection as well as significant energy savings.

They are available in linear and quarter-turn actions for a wide range of control-valve applications and challenging working environments. The new actuators eliminate the need for costly air supplies and are easily integrated into most process control environments, including those that use Hart and Foundation fieldbus protocols.

CVA actuators provide extremely precise control valve operation with repeatability and resolution performance at

<0.1% of full scale. As a

standard feature, they include wireless Blue-tooth communication technology that can be used for quick and easy actuator set-up and adjustment.

All Rotork CVA actuators incorporate a data logger, which provides an extensive record of such operational and maintenance-related data as valve torque profiles and relevant statistical information. They utilize a built-in super-capacitor that provides an advanced, programmable method for fail-to-position protection.

FIRE PROTECTION VALVES
NIBCO INC. now offers select, high-pressure
fire protection valves with a 350 psi listing—
the highest UL pressure rating in the market for
these types of valves, according to the company.
The line of 350 psi valves includes the
grooved butterfly (GD6765-8N), which features
a nylon-coated finish and EPDM-encapsulated
disc for good closure during shutdowns.
It is gear operated for slow close
operation to protect piping from water
shock and is
equipped
with internal
tamper
switches for
convenient
installation.
This grooved
butterfly valve is
UL/ULC listed
to 350 psi water
working pressure and
UL listed for indoor and out-
door service.

Other high-pressure valves include the husky Class 250 iron body gate valve (F697-0), which also carries a 300 psi FM and NYC MEA approval and the grooved double-door silent check valve (KG900-W 350). Typical applications for these types of valves include fire protection systems for high rises and high-pressure systems, with sizes ranging from 2-1/2 to 10 inches (excluding 5 inches).
