Conval offers its Clampseal Swivldisc gate valves in
standard sizes from 1/2 to 4 inches through ASME
Class 3500; the previous high range was ADME
Class 2500. The company expanded the rating to
meet growing need for higher-class gate valves.
The unique wedge gate design employs a flexible
disc that permits the seating surfaces to achieve per-
fect alignment, establishing a tight seal not possible
with standard wedge gates. The valve is designed for convenient and efficient

URETHANE-LINED KNIFE GATE VALVES
The ITT Fabri-Valve S16 urethane-lined knife gate valve incorporat es
ITT’s perimeter sealing technology, which provides zero discharge, bidirectional, drip-tight shutoff performance. Although the S16 was
specifically designed for gypsum and limestone slurries found in flue gas
desulfurization, its features also make it suitable in numerous abrasive
and corrosive process slurry applications. There’s a growing customer demand for large-diameter valves that are easy to maintain
and do not discharge process media into the environment.
The urethane liner design provides multiple benefits. The tapered
internal liner and smooth bottom port inside diameter prevent material buildup at the bottom of the port, which could cause improper
gate closure. The tapered liner also ensures automatic clean-out and
flushing of media in the bottom of the port. The liner is chemically bonded to
the body, providing excellent liner support. Therefore, the liner will not shift or
move when pressure is applied.

POWER GEN VALVES FOR LIQUID,
AIR & WATER
Lee Company’s new Power Generation Chek Valves are
field serviceable, allowing the user to disassemble and service the valve using a rebuild kit. Available with or without a
removable, washable Hi-Bar Safety Screen, the valves are
designed according to specific customer requirements and
can operate at temperatures up to 450° F.
Featuring low leakage and high flow, each valve is 100% tested and
inspected to ensure reliable, consistent, long-term performance. The product
has made these for use in purge air, water injection and liquid fuel applications.

Recognizing the need for broad multi-vendor availability, Emerson Process
Management has begun shipping open
interoperable WirelessHART standard
products. Just as its wireless technology
has opened a new era for industrial
process automation, standardization
will support broad adoption.
The company is making available a
growing range of WirelessHART applications from the member companies of
the Hart Communications Foundation
that approved the standard in September 2007.
This standard has been applied to
Emerson’s Smart Wireless range of
pressure, flow, level, temperature,
vibration, pH and discrete transmitters
and gateways, AMS Suite predictive
maintenance and Wireless SNAP-ON
software, 375 Field Communicator, and
native wireless interface of DeltaV and
Ovation digital systems. Future new
products from the company will also use
the standard, including the soon-to-be-released valve position transmitter and
Smart Wireless THUM Adapter.
Based on the high reliability and
strong performance of self-organizing
WirelessHART mesh technology and the
economic advantages of wireless, Emerson predicts the technology will account
for more than 20% of the signals in new
plants within five years.
