CAMERON, MAXTORQUE REACH
3-YEAR AGREEMENT
Cameron has signed a three-year partnership agreement with
Max Torque, LLC to supply gear operators for Cameron’s
pipeline ball valves.
“Incorporating Max Torque’s high-performance gears into
our portfolio allows us to offer a valve package that has
unique features and benefits that specifically meet our customers’ needs,” said Willy Findlay, president of Cameron’s
Engineered Valves Division. “This agreement will allow us to
offer a differentiated product that can be specified and sold
on a value basis.”

fit for both companies. We are combining technology and quality to create the most competitive package available.”
EMERSON EXPANDS WÄRTSILLÄ ALLIANCE
Emerson Process Management and Wärtsilä are expanding
their global offshore alliance. Under this expansion, they can
now deliver integrated energy and automation systems for
Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels
and semi-submersible oil and gas drilling rigs. The alliance
will also enable the two companies to offer system engineering, purchase, installations, commissioning and servicing for
this market.
Emerson is a global supplier of process automation and
control for oil and gas, refining, chemical and other industries, while Wärtsilä supplies power, automation and propulsion systems to marine and energy customers worldwide.
ITT BUYS KALIBURN
ITT Corporation has completed the acquisition of Kaliburn
Inc. through its wholly-owned subsidiary Cleveland Motion
Controls, headquartered in Cleveland, OH. Kaliburn, located
in Charleston, SC, is a designer and manufacturer of plasma
arc-cutting equipment and consumables in metal fabrication.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Kaliburn will be strategically aligned within ITT’s Motion and
Flow Controls group under the Controls Value Center.
“This acquisition broadens our product offering, leverages
our leading-edge technology and allows our customers and
distributors a wider array of integrated plasma cutting and
numerical control system solutions,” said Wayne Foley, president of CMC. “We are very pleased to welcome the Kaliburn
team and its customers to the ITT family, and pledge to maintain the level of quality they've come to expect from us.”
MATRIX METALS PURCHASED
BY SANMAR GROUP
VMA associate member Matrix Metals LLC, a portfolio company of Jefferies Capital Partners, has been acquired by The
Sanmar Group, an integrated industrial, shipping and engineering group headquartered in Chennai, India. This transaction is
the culmination of a close relationship between Sanmar and
Matrix’s NEPCO unit, which has sourced castings from Sanmar for many of Matrix’s customers for several years.
SIMRIT ACQUIRES TETRALENE
Simrit, a division of Freudenberg-NOK, acquired the assets of
the Tetralene companies of Houston, a developer and manufacturer of specialized custom sealing components for the oil and
gas industry. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Tetralene’s customers will be serviced through the Simrit
Division, based at Freudenberg-NOK’s headquarters in Plymouth, MI. Simrit, a VMA associate member, offers precision-manufactured products for markets such as oil and gas,
marine, aerospace, semiconductor and more.
PARKER-HANNIFIN ACQUIRES
HI-TECH GROUP COMPANIES
Parker Hannifin has acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of the capital stock of HTR Holding Corp. and its
subsidiaries, including Hi-Tech Rubber, Inc.; Inland Technologies, Inc.; Ventrex, Inc.; and Accusil, Inc. The acquired companies operate under their own names and under the trade
names Hi-Tech Group, A.C. Hoffman Engineering and Infinity
Plastics. HTR Holding Corp. sales for its fiscal year ended
Dec. 31, 2007, on a consolidated basis, were approximately
$93 million.
The Hi-Tech Group companies provide precision plastic and
elastomeric components for medical devices, and the group
also produces components for various pump valves, liquid
control valves and other non-medical devices.
