COMPANY PROFILE: Hardide is a unique tungsten carbide-based
coating combining ultra-hardness, toughness, low friction and
chemical resistance for use on components made from steel,
alloys and other materials. Hardide’s properties, which are particularly important for valve applications, include wear and erosion resistance, absence of porosity, anti-galling, flexibility and
facilitated finishing, and the ability to coat complex shapes and
internal surfaces. These open up new opportunities for valve
design where traditional hard coatings cannot be used. As
applied, Hardide is very smooth and uniform, and coated valve
parts usually require only polishing to achieve a finish of typically
0.3 microns Ra, significantly streamlining finishing operations.
Hardide is consistently proven to deliver superior performance in
industry standard tests including NACE TM0177, ASTM G65
and ASTM G75.
