MUELLER SYSTEMS’ 420 RDM allows utilities to remotely manage water services through
Mi.Net—or from the safety of their vehicles.
The 420 RDM helps municipalities—
especially those that experience
high account turnover—to
improve employee safety,
reduce labor and operational costs and to
reduce their carbon
footprint, as field
crews and service
vehicles will not have
to be dispatched to connect or disconnect water
services. The meter also
can be used for complete water service shutoffs or, for utilities that have policies against completely terminating supplies to residents, configured to limit shutoffs. By enabling
water services to be remotely managed, the product further
enhances the Mi.Net System’s wireless mesh platform,
which offers improved demand response, asset management,
conservation and other advances.
CRANE CHEMPHARMA introduces its new Resistoflex
ATL PTFE Advanced Technology Liner. Featuring an outer
shell protection that delivers superior permeation control up
to 450° F (232° C), the Resistoflex ATL meets difficult temperature and pressure cycling requirements. Additionally, its
PTFE liner offers a 60% reduction in permeation rate in
aggressive chemical services at elevated temperatures. The
new product line is a cost-effective solution for handling corrosion in severe service applications. Other features include a
standard configuration that includes a premium paint system, vent couplings and PTFE vent extension.
ITT BELL & GOSSETT has introduced a new 1-inch
through 2-inch 3DV Triple Duty Valve that performs all the
functions of three valves normally required to balance sys-
tems for smaller pump applications. By incorporating three
valves in one, the new valve saves money in material costs
and minimizes installation time. The valve includes a calibrated balance valve, a spring-loaded check valve and a
shut-off valve. The calibrated balance valve optimizes system
operating efficiency and provides precise flow with a maximum range of control. The spring-loaded check valve prevents gravity circulation and backflow in a system, particularly in jobs with zoned pumping, parallel and standby
pumping, and condenser water applications. The product
includes a calibrated nameplate and memory button allowing the entire valve to be returned to its initial balanced position after shutoff.
EMERSON PROCESS
MANAGEMENT debuts a
new icon-based user interface for the 475 Field
Communicator that simpli-fies the work of field maintenance technicians. The
new interface features
graphical menus that are easy
to use and understand and
device dashboards that provide
a clear view of a device’s operating health. The 475 also
includes the ValveLink Mobile
software application, which
delivers advanced control valve
diagnostics in the field for Fisher FIELDVUE instruments. The icon-based interface functions like popular consumer products with a touch screen for
one-finger selection of various tasks, including quick connection to field devices and ValveLink Mobile. Once a field
device is identified, task-based menus enable technicians to
easily carry out maintenance or troubleshooting routines.
TYCO FLOW CONTROL has expanded
its Anderson Greenwood instrument
valve line with the M30
series primary isolation
instrumentation root
valve. The new valve was
created to provide a large-bore isolation
valve to handle hostile environments
and processes, including high
temperatures and pressures,
while providing excellent seating
capabilities.
