vent pipe. Pressure above 2.0 ounces
per square inch will cause the whistle to
activate and pressures above 4.0
ounces per square inch will cause the
device to discharge from the pipe.
SPIRAX SARCO has released the
Fig 36HP stainless-steel, Y-type
strainer rated to ASME Class 600
standards, which enables it to meet the
needs of a wider range of applications.
The strainer is designed to protect
equipment from pipeline debris such as
scale, rust, jointing compound, weld
metal and other solids in flowing liquids
or gases, making it suitable for the oil
and petrochemical market.
This new range of strainers has a
large screen area providing high Cv and
low pressure drop as well as reducing

PPE Launches
Perlast ICE
Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE) has
launched Perlast ICE G75LT, a low temperature perfluoroelastomer material for use in
oil and gas applications.
Perlast ICE G75LT is the latest innovation
to be introduced to the market by PPE,
developed to perform under extreme
conditions, in temperatures as low as
– 46°C (– 51°F).
The material offers the thermal and
chemical resistance superiority associated
with perfluoroelastomers (FFKM) but now
with extremely low temperature capabilities. The exceptional low temperature properties are achieved by polymer structure
changes, rather than additive techniques,
which provides reliable, repeatable and
sustained sealing performance.

the frequency of blowdown for cleaning.
The Fig 36HP strainer is capped,
drilled and tapped to enable a blowdown valve to be fitted to drain and
clean the screen in service, therefore
reducing system downtime. It features
a wide range of strainer screen options
that are available in stainless steel,
Monel, perforations and mesh.
