GARLOCK SEALING TECHNOLOGIES announces the
addition of a Non-Sparking, Conveyor Roller Bearing Isolator. The KLOZURE GUARDIAN was listed by the U.S.
Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration as an innovative product within the MSHA accident
prevention program.
The products program directly addresses the replace-
ment of plastic and rubber seals that could lead to spark-
ing or eventual fire and costly bearing damage. The non-
sparking design prevents the failure mode by virtue of its
design; non-contacting labyrinth design with easy to install
Cam-Lok o-rings. The MSHA innovative product posting
reads: “Bearings are typically designed to last 20 years or
more, but very seldom do, mostly because they are not
adequately protected.”
This product, with its IEEE 841-2001 IP56 rating,
ensures proper bearing protection by eliminating both dust
and liquid from entering the bearing housing. The bearing
isolators are available in sizes that range from 0.875 inch-
es to well over 30 inches, split or solid, flanged and flange-
less and even bearing pillow block configurations.
ROTORK has extended the
capabilities of the Pakscan digital control system with the
addition of a wireless option.
The modular nature of the latest Rotork Pakscan P3 master
station now allows the user to
have the choice of a fully wired
loop for control and monitoring, a fully wireless control and
monitoring system or wired
control with wireless monitoring.
Using the internationally accepted 2.4GHz frequency,
the wireless network card gives the user access to all the
standard data available from the wired system, together
with the diagnostic and asset management information
stored by Rotork actuator data logger and configuration
files. It allows easy extraction of these files, which up until
now have only been downloadable locally, using handheld
tools.
The wireless system also increases the available
actuator count of each master station to 300. VM
VICTAULIC announces the launch of its
Streng Thin Piping System. These pipes are
designed to work in high-pressure environments and are intended for the desalination
market. The system can significantly cut
piping installation time for an entire high-pressure piping system, lowers costs and
reduces project risk during the construction
of desalination facilities.
Offered in a range of sizes from 2 to 16
inches, the system is rated up to 8,200kPA
( 1,200 psi) with a minimum safety factor of
three to one. In addition the piping system
includes a full range of couplings, fittings,
valves and a pipe preparation tool. The couplings are available as rigid or flexible.
All couplings feature an anti-biofouling
Grade “EW” gasket. The gasket is
designed using a Victaulic-engineered compound that does not contribute to
microbiological growth.
